Support Coordinator

Hey, my name is Wallis (they/them), I'm a queer trans/non-binary person living on unceded Gunitjmara Lands.

Me at "work":
Living with ADHD has sculpted me into a jack-of-all-trades kinda person; I've worked as a "checkout ch*ck", industrial cleaner on submarines, cook, painter, bartender, educator (teaching consent to kids), but now I have found what I genuinely love doing most.

Over the last decade I have met some truly remarkable people, supporting folk in the community as a mentor, support worker and facilitator.
My educational background is in Mental Health and I'm currently (ever so slowly) completing a Diploma of Counselling.

Me at home:
In 2020 my dreams of making it to the 'big time' with my band sadly came to an end, but you can still find me writing and performing spokenword poetry and hosting poetry workshops and community events.
I started my writing venture in 2013 when battling with grief, it gave me the tools to express myself and opened me up to a community that encourages connection, explores identity and builds confidence.

Vacuuming is my favourite chore. I don't eat anything with a face, and I recently moved to a little country town in the Grampians- which is prime-time for exploring with my two dogs, growing veggies and avoiding any form of peak-hour traffic.

I'm understanding, calm, patient and often baking a sweet-treat.

I'm not much of a morning person but fighting for representation, inclusion and accessibility gets me out of bed most days!

FAQs

Where can I get support?

Our Support Coordination services are available Australi-wide. We provide support in-person and online telehealth support through video and phone calls or SMS.

How much does it cost?

We charge the rates set by the NDIS. At the moment, Support Coordination from Neuroqueer starts at $100.14 per hour depending on where you’re located and what level of support is included in your plan.

Support on weekends, public holidays and at different times during the day can cost more. Travel is also charged on top of those rates.

I want support but I’m a bit unsure?

It’s very normal to feel a bit nervous about meeting a new person, especially if it’s your first time getting support or you’re unsure what to expect.

We will share a Social Story with you at each step so you know what to expect.

We will also spend time getting to know you and part of that will be helping you to figure out what kind of support you need, and how we can give you that support in a way that is comfortable for you.
